it was a good day

i think i need it to be spring. it was 50 degrees yesterday and the first day we've emerged from the basement in 12 or so days to spend the afternoon outside and not ON TOP of each other. it was SO SO nice and we were ALL much better people for it! once they were done with their homework, i told them we were staying outside until it was so dark we couldn't see each other!

it also helped that this girl cooked dinner for us. and invited us over. she's one of those friends where you go deep IMMEDIATELY. so quickly that you don't even know what her favorite color is. but you know the DEEP things that really matter. they also have 2 adopted sons and our texts and emails have kept me sane some days. just like prayers, sometimes the shortest emails are the most weighty and truthful.

and he's just cute. and his joy always makes my day better.
