friday afternoon :: week 2

HOW can it have only been a week since this started?! doesn't seem possible. the kitchen really doesn't look very different than it did a week ago. this week the gas line was moved (from the island to the wall), the vent was put in for the stove, and LOTS of electrical work was done. there is going to be LOTS of light in this kitchen of mine...and i can't WAIT!

our old cabinets in the garage...waiting for habitat for humanity to pick them up.
feels like EVERY room in the house has been overrun. appliances in the game room.
all the lighting and plans on the dining room table.
so...since the actual kitchen isn't that exciting this week, how about a little tour of our makeshift kitchen in the basement?
our little sink.
we did buy this oven and the burners. we use the burners EVERY day...multiple times (can't live without my fried eggs!) and the oven MOST days. they are making this do-able. we haven't eaten out once (we will. we will. it's been so COLD, i don't even WANT to go out!) things just take LONGER. and the pans needing to be SCRAPED into the trashcan is the least fun part. not a morsel of food left before it's washed in that sink...we don't want to clog up the drain!
view from the kitchen to our table (and basement of toys...)
these are all the holes they've made...so far! in our ceiling for running wires and stuff...there are some holes where you can see all the way up to the kitchen...that's a fun game :-)
next friday's post should be MUCH more exciting ;-)

I LOVE seeing the "progress"!!!! Love that you are doing the "every Friday" post on the renovation.

I can't wait until you put everything into place, Courtney! Just take your time and make sure you go about everything properly. I commend your diligence in maintaining a clog free sink! Although, sometimes it might be inevitable, you can still rely on professionals to give you a helping hand. Thanks for sharing!
