thankful for heat!

all cuddled up on the couch thanksgiving night. yes, we do love to cuddle. but it was COLD in our house! heat is broken. and the serviceman informed us our whole unit is shot. so, we get to buy a new furnace AND a/c. won't be installed until tuesday. that's 5 days (and nights!) without heat. we had 1 space heater that pat had in college. we used that the first night.
then bought 2 more so that we could split up into 3 rooms to sleep in at night.

it's definitely cold in our house. but we are making it and trying to choose to be thankful that we can get it fixed and to remember those that are cold all the time. it's pretty miserable. i admit to having moments of not having a great attitude. last night, after a day outside ALL day and coming home to a cold house, i was almost in tears. but it's a good reminder, for sure!

i woke up to these 3 huddled around the heater waiting for breakfast. makes life simpler. and kind of removes all the extra things we worry about and argue about most days. there isn't energy for that when you're trying to keep warm!

and, i mean, really? i'm sitting here blogging at a computer. with more layers than i can remember. and more layers that i COULD put on in my closet. with a hot cup of tea in front of me. counting my blessings...

ohhhh, friend. so sorry. i KNOW it is not fun replacing the whole system...and how crazy that yours died in the middle of freezing cold weather and ours died in the middle of burning heat!! one fun plus - you might get to control the whole thing from your iphone ;) i know, it's a stretch....but i had to find the POSITIVE in spending so much money! :) love you!
