this is the before picture. there's no need to see the after. it's not pretty, but i'm getting ahead of myself.
i have one amazing daughter.
she woke up ready to go and get this over with. no drama. a little nervous (she had butterflies in her stomach). but mostly smiles.
she was thanking all her nurses/doctor and handing out their little gifts as they each came in and met her and did their respective jobs. her heart is huge. i'm not bragging, i'm just saying. her heart is huge and i was humbled by it, the God has allowed me to be her mom.
everything went EXACTLY like they said it would. surgery was on time. exactly 40 minutes long. when her doctor came to let us know it went well, he had his scarf on :-) i almost cried...everyone was so wonderful!
her nurse said she was her best tonsil patient ever. not sure if she always says that. but i am choosing to believe there's some truth there :-) she was great during recovery at the hospital...little smiles and just handled it all so well.
since we've been home, she's done well. but is having a hard time keeping her pain medication down. we are doing her next dose in about an hour (8:30 pm-ish) if you could pray that she would keep it down? (we are giving her bits of applesauce/slurpee before but it's still upsetting her stomach.) it will REALLY help as the pain increases. her throat is hurting more and more and it's only going to get worse over the next few days.
it's been a LONG day. but i'm overwhelmed with the amazing daughter God has blessed me with. watching her walk through this day was inspiring.
thank you for your prayers! we feel them!

Okay so that girl made me cry...precious, just precious. We will be praying....we are RIGHT now. Father God, help those pain meds to stay down to give her some relief and get her through the night. In your POWERFUL name we pray. AMEN. Love to you all!!!!
she is so sweet! praying for her and for you guys - that you all get a good night sleep tonight. and praying that the next few days aren't too horrible for her.
Praying for her right now
Feel better soon Rebekah!! Hugs and well wishes coming your way. Love, Heather
wow. she is awesome. praying she keeps her meds down!
Wow. Such a sweet heart. Hoping she's on the mend soon!
Did the doctor happen to mention chloroseptic spray?? That stuff helped my throat a ton when I had my tonsils out. It would numb the pain just enough that I could swallow without wincing.
I couldn't keep my prescription pain meds down either and throwing up when you've had your tonsils removed might be one of the worst things ever! Pump her up on advil and tylenol (alternating)if she can't keep the good stuff down.
Praying for your sweet (and amazing!) girl! What a heart she has. WOW.
