fighting {and home 1 month!!!}

one month ago today...we walked through those doors...and became a family of 8
i have NOT lost sight of the glory of that moment...of HIS hand in it all...of the many miracles He worked to get us to that point.

we had FOUGHT our way through paperwork and unknowns and waiting and preparing for
2 YEARS...and here we were!!! it was finished! oh, the relief to have that all behind us. the emotions of that are more than i can describe.

and so are the emotions of these days.

yesterday was the hardest day yet. today is not much better. i'd love to do a "how everyone is doing 1 month in" post. but i don't trust myself. not today.

so...we are still fighting. we KNOW He is with us. we KNOW we are in His hands. we will keep fighting...we WILL {i admit to not getting up to run this morning. to not wanting to get out of bed. i think that says more than many words to pat :-) our hug goodbye this morning said more than words could have...} but it's not easy. not pretty.

and i'm learning a LOT. learning that i need to go THROUGH this...with them...with myself...not around it or under it or over it...but THROUGH it. in His strength. only in His strength...

"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Exodus 14:14

"Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.”
Deuteronomy 3:22

"For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
Deuteronomy 20:4

"Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The LORD will do what is good in his sight.”
2 Samuel 10:12

"You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.’”
2 Chronicles 20:17

"They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD."
Jeremiah 1:19

"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."
2 Cor 10:4

keep on fighting. because He knows that you can be victorious! it's what He has called us to. I think the last study I did had a whole session on this...that sometimes he calls us to fight a battle...and sometimes He requires us to fight with every ounce of our being to gain the victory. Either way - He WILL give you the strength that you need and the victory WILL be sweet. Love you!

HUGS, we have been at our camps and I have not had reliable internet, but I have been reading and caught up and been praying for you all... just wanted you to know . You are doing great. It is hard being of mom of small kids and as my mentor is always telling me (even if I am not FEELING this way) "YOU ARE DOING GREAT, You are a great mom and God made you just for ALL your kids and ALL your kids JUST FOR YOU!!!!" HUGS

you know how when a fight breaks out in a public place (usually in high school) everyone starts chanting 'fight fight fight!'?

I know that's usually a bad thing but in this case it seems so appropriate and encouraging that I feel like we should all gather around you and say, for the Lord, "fight! fight! fight! fight!"

In these moments, it is not a sign of weakness to reach out. It does not mean you are not trusting in God. He is your ultimate comforter and fighter for sure. Just know that we are standing alongside you fighting with you. Let me know if you need to vent. Let me know if I can help in ANY way. Oh, how I wish I could move next door for a while. Just to be there to help. Sometimes just being able to share and have someone else say they understand lightens the load!!
Love,
Laura

Hey Cassadas,
Adoption can be tough :) but it is so wonderful but it can be tough :). I know you must have tons of people to process with but we are willing to be one of them! Feel free to write whatever, whenever! We are praying for you all!
