fighting for memories

this past weekend was painful.
pat was finally feeling better.
i was trying to ignore that i was sick.
sawyer was still sick...and miserable and literally ruined many meals over the weekend with his whining.

i was going to just write off the weekend...until i was looking through pictures just now.
we did have some great moments.
and even made some memories??

bailey and dad playing Old Maid

LOVE her laugh!

trying to figure out which one is the old mail so she doesn't pick it.
bailey LOVES games!!

i took both girls back to the antique store that i took rebekah to the previous weekend.
we had to pick up bailey's new dresser!
we couldn't fit it in the car the first time.
rebekah showing it to her...

one of the clerks started talking to bailey.
{she had no idea what she was getting herself into!}
bailey said, "it's just the girls today! sawyer couldn't come because he didn't have his pants on!"
i made sure to clarify that sawyer was her baby brother...

a fun outing...just the girls :-)

we had a family reunion for pat's side of the family on sunday...this was the only picture i took.
but we thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone!!!

and, just some shots of the things we allow when we are sick.
sawyer sitting on the family room floor, emptying a kleenex box (they are CLEAN!) into the trash can that should be in the bathroom...don't normally have a trash can in the middle of the family room! :-)

and i think this is everyone laying around watching the olympics...so sad they are over!

not our best weekend ever...but it could definitely have been worse!

hey! that looks like a fun antique store, where is it? You can email it to me if you don't want to post it for safety reasons.

BTW, thought it was funny though accurate about your issue with stacking cups in PE. Our PE teachers (one of whom is a GREAT Christian guy) and the ones at our Middle School do something called "The Pacer." It's running and maintaining a pace.
They run cone to cone (different spacing per age groups) and if they don't make it back to the first cone by the time the 'pacer' beeps then they're "out." They keep running until one kid is left -YEAH, no "everybody wins" here!!!!!!!
The kids LOVE doing it, even one of Sam's friends who's a bit overweight. He can see himself improving (more laps) and is then pleased. Let me know if you want contact info for our PE teachers to pass along to your PE teachers.
