by the time pat and i sat down and looked at each other last night we had nothing left.
we had given hard all day to everyone and everything else and i literally couldn't speak.
i think i kinda spoke in sentence fragments for a couple minutes.
and then just said, "i have nothing to say."
years ago this would have made me sad...or brought out some kind of negative emotion.
like guilt...like i should always have my best saved for him.
but last night it was such a comfortable place.
just being next to each other.
knowing each other's hearts without having to say anything.
loving each other just by being there.
that's the beauty of marriage.
and, because marriage is a picture of our relationship with Christ, it reminds me that sometimes it's ok to come to Him that way. "i have nothing to say"...and just BE in His presence. it doesn't make the love known or felt any less...it almost makes it sweeter.

love it. it's a good place to be in , isn't it? just resting together sometimes.
This is so encouraging!! I find myself here so often with Jesus! Being a mom to young kids takes so much out of you, but it SO worth it!
