the girls room reveal!

the BEFORE pictures!
they mentioned earlier this summer that they wanted a change...they were over the pink. they wanted their room to look "older"...

I decided to make it a learning process (instead of just doing it myself) - of COURSE I did ;-)

they actually agreed on a color pretty easily (miracle! they don't agree on ANYTHING!)
like I mentioned earlier, they painted their closet first (to teach them how to paint a room)...so they were experts when we got to their walls - ha!

taping....taping...

trimming, trimming...

they have a LOT of wall space. we did the taping, trimming and TWO coats of paint (it took 3 gallons total!) all in one day. and mostly had fun!!

we re-arranged the furniture.
and added a few new accessories...

the flowers and mirror were from their "old room" but fit and still worked with their new color scheme!

they have 2 alcoves in their room. I wanted one of them to be a vanity - for them to get ready with. we have 1 bathroom for all 6 kids and we need some other space for them to get ready while others might want to go to the bathroom or take a shower...

I brainstormed a bit...and came up with this. it's one of those lamps with a few arms coming out of it. I put it up on a crate so it would hang over the mirror. and it works GREAT! way cheaper than installing a light IN the wall.

the other alcove is for their music stuff - karaoke machine, amplifier...
bailey wants to collect crosses. so we started that wall...
they love it. and so do I.
it feels so clean and fresh and, older........
