they didn't bat an eye and were fully on board (it's a LOT in how you spin things with kids. lots of wide open eyes and smiles goes a long way!)
while i got in the shower, rebekah asked how she could help. and she meant it. i told her she could start packing our lunches. and she did...smiley faces on our baggies and everything. she is SUCH a sweet blessing to my heart.
jenn and i have known each other since we were rebekah's age! we've lived through a LOT of life together. and i hadn't seen her in WAY too long...and just needed to put my hands on her THAT DAY. i surprised her by showing up on her doorstep with hands ready to help. oh, how i loved seeing her!
before we got back on the road to head home, we lined all our kids up...youngest to oldest :-)
later that evening, sawyer asked me to sit with him. it's so HARD for me to SIT. but i said, "yes." and took some deep breaths and enjoyed every second.
i spent some time making this whole plan for our summer back in may. crafts every week. bike rides to fun places every thursday. we have done maybe 1% of these things. but we've lived some GOOD moments this summer. we've chosen to love. we've chosen to do what He asks us to do each day. and it's been a GREAT summer.
