lincoln and sawyer are SWIMMERS!

oh my word.
i was SO nervous this past wednesday before lincoln and sawyer's first swim meet.
i won't go into details. but when my body gets nervous, it's not pretty. i don't think i ate all day.
sawyer also had a "stomach ache" :-)
it was such a big deal!!!

and then there was a rain delay...and the meet was flipped backwards...so usually the little guys would be done in the first hour...but instead we arrived at the pool at 4 pm...and they swam for the FIRST time at like 7:30 pm! (the older kids swam first.)

i'm getting a stomach ache just THINKING about it again.

the heat before him is swimming and he's cheering for his team. he's about to get in the water and swim for the FIRST time. this kid.

and he is 2 chairs over. a little calmer.

their first race was backstroke. and they were in the same heat! lincoln on the left. sawyer on the right (with another kid in between them).

they made it!!!

a few minutes later - freestyle.

gotta love those "dives!"

they BOTH made it across!!! no one had to jump in and save them - whew!

we were so so proud of them!!! and they get to do it all over again tomorrow morning!
