“The most important thing in your life, is not what you do; it’s who you become. That’s what you will take into eternity. You are an unceasing spiritual being with an eternal destiny in God’s great universe. Your soul is not just something that lives on after your body dies. It’s the most important thing about you. It is your life.”

I love this. I've thought for a while that the question - "What do you do?" - is such an inaccurate and unhelpful way of getting to know people you've just met, but I ask it all the time! And I can't think of a good (not weird) alternative yet. ("How's your soul?" weird). But, this is very true! It's the only thing that matters.

Reminds me of C.S. Lewis's quote that goes something like, "You don't have a soul… you are a soul that has a body.." I probably botched that, but you get the picture.

Thanks for the reminder.
