so pat had shoulder surgery

it kind of snuck up on us. i guess with a life as busy as ours, that's what happens.
it wasn't an emergency or surprise. he's needed surgery on his shoulder for awhile...but he planned it for AFTER the tough mudder and, then it was here!

he had surgery yesterday afternoon. and, bonus! the kids were out of school yesterday AND today. so we got to spend 6 hours an hour away in another STATE at the surgery center they sent us to.

for a couple hours, we went to target and shopped for operation christmas child. that was fun! and the target we found had an escalator for the carts! the kids thought that was so cool! :-)
even though he was still coming off his anesthesia, he still managed to do the candle and sing some songs with the kids. what a man he is.
he thought he'd be going to work today (men!) but he didn't.
he can't get comfortable, he's hardly slept and the pain is definitely there. but he IS hoping to go to work tomorrow (i'll have to drive him, as he's still on some hardcore pain meds.)

rebekah made his favorite - chocolate cake with chocolate icing.
i'm not a very good nurse. which makes me feel like not a very good wife.
i don't handle these kind of days well...where we are all just walking around each other in circles.

but i'm trying to be thankful that we are dealing with what we are. we are all healthy and we have the money to pay doctors to fix broken shoulders and it will all be over in a few days.

what did he have done? scott had surgery on his shoulder for a major laberal tear in may. he thought that he would be back to work the next day too - but he wasn't!! (he did work from home for a little while.) scott's recovery has been long and slow but he is finally getting there. I hope that pat's recovery is short and easy. :) hang in there. I am not a good nurse either.
