KILLED my list!

sometimes you just need to put your head down and plow through your list, you know??
i feel like i hardly EVER cross things off my list - the one with the things that should be done today but don't HAVE to be.

well, this past weekend, i was determined to get some STUFF DONE!

{a friend brought these flowers by on friday evening. aren't they amazing??}
pat and rebekah were both gone friday evening. i put a movie on for the other kids and worked in the kitchen...

got up and ran from 5:30-7 am saturday morning because pat had to leave at 7. i definitely fell and bit it BIG TIME. stopped at a grocery store and got a bandaid and ran 6 more miles. i'm a tough mudder, remember?? ;-)

got home. pat and the older 3 kids left to do a service project with our church. they worked ALL day long (with 700 other people!) and then, from the money they made doing jobs for people, they went and bought groceries and delivered it to those that might not have money to have food this coming week. they were gone from 7 am-10 pm!

and i tackled my list. i did.not.stop. until 10 pm when they got home. i was vacuuming the basement at 10 pm when bailey came bouncing downstairs to tell me all about it :-)

i won't bore you with all i got done. but it was a lot and it felt SO good.

these little boys were incredible. they helped some. i did play a game or two with them. and fed them :-) but they played together SO well! it was a HUGE blessing to me!
later in the afternoon, i took them shopping for gifts for their siblings. i had the time and energy and just decided to do it. we let EACH kid buy for EACH person in our family. these 3 just buy from the dollar section at target. the older 3 get a $25 limit and have to budget how they want to spend it on the 7 members of our family they are buying for...they can also ADD their own money to it. that part of our christmas day - opening those gifts - is one of the highlights for all of us!
once those cute little boys were tucked in their beds, i even got to do some creative projects that have been sitting and waiting patiently for MONTHS! i hardly ever get to paint or create anymore. and it's fine...i'd MUCH rather be investing my time and energy in the 7 people in my home, but it sure did feel good!
sunday was a wonderful rest day that ended with an adult only evening with some great friends!

heading into this week of thanksgiving, i have so very much to be thankful for.

{some people say we look alike...what do you think? ;-)}
