i took these pictures at the beach (obviously).
a
father holding his son. they were entwined out there for a LONG time.
the father standing still. the son holding on. it was calm in this spot
for awhile...
but
then a wave crashed closer in. the father turned to take the force of
the impact. and the son knew he was safe in his father's arms.
and
then it was calm again. the son was so relaxed his head rested on his
father's shoulder. the father continued to hold him, to just be with his son.
i
didn't post these pictures for awhile because i didn't have the words. i
still don't feel like i have adequate words. but they must be shared.
the beauty of the allegory between this father and son and our heavenly
Father with us is powerful.
we are always held. always.
i'm much quicker to recognize His arms around me in the crashing waves,
but i'm slowly learning to sense His joy and sweet whispers in the calm
waters, too.
i'm so thankful for a husband that models his heavenly Father to his children.
i'm so thankful for the beach and the reminders it brings my heart of the powerful, yet gentle God we serve.
i'm so thankful for pictures and the gift that they are to my heart.
and i'm so thankful for a Father that holds me always.
