everyday happenings

just because i'm planning on "writing" the next few weeks, does not mean i won't be posting our everyday lives, too. THAT is what this blog is for - to document our lives. it will always be the priority!

here we have 2 apples after they were eaten. the apple on the left is how all the "light-skinned" cassada kids eat an apple. the apple on the right is how the "dark-skinned" cassada kids eat an apple. interesting, huh?? they sure get my money's worth out of it!
i am struggling BIG TIME with eating the way i should. ever since school started. i'm such an emotional eater - ugh! but i'm feeling the effects and just threw a bunch of the things that tempt me away. BUT...this was my breakfast sat am after my long run. i definitely was roasting asparagus at 9 am. compared to my eating habits a year ago, that is crazy talk! :-)
this happened. and i wasn't even there!! last thursday evening pat and i went for a run together (so fun! ONLY because of the tough mudder will he run...and i'm loving it!) while we were running, rebekah pulled sawyer's tooth out (it was hurting him because it was SO ready). he couldn't wait to tell us when we got home. and he also said that rebekah said she'd call the tooth fairy and tell her "because she knows her number." :-)
got to celebrate some birthdays this weekend with pat's family. these are all the grandkids on his side - our 6 and his sister's daughter, abigail. cute crew, huh??
i found out about this "optional homework" assignment for sawyer late last week. we did the WHOLE thing this morning in an hour. read 20 books. it was so fun to snuggle up together and read book after book. i don't think it was the intent of the assignment - i think you were supposed to read a book a day, but it was fun this way!
and he had another assignment - to decorate a box and fill it with things to do your homework with (crayons/pencils/glue sticks). he loved decorating his box! it's nice to have the quiet mornings to do these things together!
