rolling with it

remember how i was dreading summer? and nervous? and losing sleep over it?
well, i am loving it now. and learning to just roll with the days as they come. each one is so very different and so very full.
some mornings i still wake up with butterflies in my stomach. because i just don't know how i'm going to survive the day ahead, but i always do...with His help.
and i ALWAYS sleep good :-) no lost sleep over here!

i hardly sew these days. i would miss it if i had time to miss anything.
but, the other day i was wearing one of my "water" shirts, and someone asked if i was still making them.
i don't advertise or anything, but i will ALWAYS make a "water" shirt and give the profit to clean water!!
ALWAYS ALWAYS.
it was a blessing to make a few for her!
{$20/each.}
still loving paleo. need to do a "real" post on that. love love love.
the older 5 kids are in vbs this week. from 5:30-8:30 pm every night! it's been fun to have some hours in the evening. levi isn't super excited about it, but he has survived. the first night i met a friend. last night i rode 30 (yes, THIRTY) miles (that awesome little dude sat there and talked my ear off for almost 3 hours!). and tonight i got to spend some of it talking with my mom and the rest with pat. such a gift to have some SPACE in my brain and focus on one person at a time!
yesterday afternoon the kids wanted to have a lemonade stand. i said no.
they asked if they could have a yard sale. i asked why.
they said that at vbs they were trying to collect money to send kids in need to camp.
i said, "sure."
their yard sale wasn't going so well...so i donated a pitcher of lemonade and sales picked up ;-)
i made them their dinner and brought it out there. grilled cheese and peaches.
their yard sale was hysterical.
my favorite was "used crayons. $.10. for all crayons" ha!
they made $60 in 1 hour!!! pretty good!
we've (by "we" i mean "me" because they were gone all day today) done some work and will be having a bigger, more extensive lemonade stand tomorrow afternoon - brownies and cupcakes and maybe cookies for sale with the lemonade! they want to raise LOTS of money for kids to go to camp!
so...pat and i were supposed to spend the day hiking with my sister and her husband today. pat was sick so we didn't get to do it. BUT...my parents still took my kids (they were going to watch them) and gave me the day to myself! i spent some of it tending to pat, but also got to go on a run in the summer rain, clean out some drawers, and shop for things that you can't normally try on with kids in tow. the hours went by WAY too fast, but it was such a gift!

in addition to my 6 kids, my parents also had my brothers 3 kids - 9 kids for 7 hours. i know, they are amazing! they gave my kids lifelong memories today.
and off to get ready for another day...swim team practice, 2 dr appts (one for pat, one for rebekah), preparing for and doing the lemonade stand, vbs tomorrow evening, and grocery shopping for the following week. OH! and it's a very special day tomorrow... :-)
