mom-son date night

i saw a thing recently...from chick fil a...that they were having a "mom-son" date night. i signed up. pat gets to do that with the girls...i should do it with the boys! it was last night. i presented them with an invitation the day before...told them they had to "look nice"...and rebekah took a couple quick pictures. i LOVE that first one!

 we had a great time! i don't need chick fil a to do this for me to take my boys on a date - i should do it again!

 on the ride there, joshua asked for a piece of paper. and proceeded to write down our orders :-) then, when we were there, he used the REAL menu's they gave us after the seated us (oh, yes. it was like a REAL restaurant :-)) to add it all up. love that kid and his obsession with numbers!

i truly enjoyed every minute with those three. it was fun and easy and just a sweet time!

in being completely real though, just an hour before we left...this is what i was doing. hiding on the street in my neighborhood after taking the girls to their piano lessons, checking my email on my phone and looking at my newest athleta catalog. AND, i should have taken a "before" and "after" pic. it was pretty impressive how i went from that, to playing in the yard, to picking the girls up, to making them dinner, to changing (and dressing up even!) and heading out on our date. what a life. i was in bed...DONE...at 9:29 pm.
