saturday

i had to start my run EARLY on saturday if i wanted to get it in because pat and rebekah were going white water rafting all day. it wasn't easy to get out of bed. but watching the sun rise is always a GREAT way to start the day! i had a GREAT run! 12 miles with a 8:49 avg! (and it makes NO sense. some fridays i try to eat "good" so that i have the "proper" fuel for my long run. this friday? i had strawberries for breakfast. a soft pretzel from sams and some gummy bears for lunch...and a HUGE diet coke. and a piece of pepperoni pizza for dinner. horrible nutrition. yet i had a GREAT run?!? what the heck??)

ANYways. walked in the door to this cute sight :-)

pat always does breakfast on saturday mornings, while i'm running. joshua was concerned about what our breakfast was going to be like when he realized pat wouldn't be here to do it. i assured him all would be fine!

i made a new recipe. german pancakes. got it from here. {LOVE HER!}

SO easy.

Turn on oven to 400 degrees.  Cut up a 1/2 cube of butter into pieces and put it in a 9x13 casserole dish. 
Put butter in the oven to melt while the oven heats up and you mix the ingredients.  Be sure to check on it so it doesn’t burn.
In a bowl, beat six eggs.
Add 1 c. flour gradually and mix ‘til smooth.
Add 1 c. milk and beat together ‘til kind of frothy.
Add 1/2 tsp. salt.
Take out melted butter from oven and pour mixture into the butter. 
Return to oven quickly and set the timer for 20 minutes.
It will puff up like nobody’s business.
After twenty minutes, take it out and serve with syrup, powdered sugar, strawberries, whatever.

we had powdered sugar, syrup and strawberries on ours. YUM!! joshua was just fine... ;-) everyone loved it!

we did some chores...mowed the grass, cleaned out the garage, took little naps...then headed to joshua's football game!

my dad came to cheer joshua on! it was so nice to see him! (bailey took the picture...)

meanwhile...this is what pat and rebekah were doing (pat bought the pictures! that is SO cute of him!)

they had SO much fun!!

meanwhile...we rushed to target after joshua's game to get lincoln new glasses (his prescription changed...) and then get bailey to a birthday party.

the 4 boys and i ate pizza (leftover from the night before) in front of a movie. it was fun to just have the boys for a little while!

THEN...chari came over!! chari and i were roommates freshman year at JMU. i love her to death. she lives in charlotte now, but was in dc for a conference. i got to see her for the evening!! i got the kids to bed...and then we got chipotle for dinner and just talked on the porch with yummy food, some GOOD drinks and a beautiful evening!

 it went by WAY too fast. we jumped from subject to subject like crazy.

we also went to bed too late...but it was worth it! what a day!!
