i have to do it. i have to give the full story. (but i didn't want it in the previous post!)
pat and i decided we wanted to order the nissan nv3500 in nov 2012. and ordered it in november 2012.
they only made 300 of them for 2012, and there were only ones in colors we didn't like left to be found.
so, we ordered it the way we wanted it.
they told us it would come in in 6-8 weeks. we thought maybe christmas??? if not, then soon after!
christmas came and went.
end of january, we were told that our van was manufactured. yay!
then NOTHING from then (end of january) until the beginning of march. spring break was coming up and we were REALLY hoping not to have to make another car trip in our minivan. at that point, we got frustrated. pat started calling and emailing anyone he could get contact information for. WE COULD NOT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER. "we aren't sure where your car is." (i'm sorry!? it's a pretty big vehicle! how can it be lost?!?) "we are working on finding out."
it.was.so.frustrating.
yes, we considered cancelling it and buying another car. but, once spring break came and went, there wasn't really a RUSH on getting it. and we did really like the vehicle! so we tried to ride it out (ha!)
FINALLY...at the beginning of april, we got a story. our car had come of the "line" with a bunch of armada's. those armada's and our car got put into an overflow lot somewhere in mississippi. our car was stuck behind tons of other cars. once those cars got out, our car could get out and get sent up to us.
we were glad to have a story. but frustrated that they were ok with this??
so we continued to wait.
mid-april, our local dealer (that we've been dealing with all along and that has been GREAT) called and he found a car JUST like the one we ordered in new york. he sent someone up to get it and drive it down for us last tuesday (april 23). THAT DAY, a car carrier shows up at the dealer with OUR CAR on it! ha! he had no idea it was on it's way. clearly, nissan has some communication issues. and they can't keep track of their inventory (they LOST our car for a few months.)
but, we got it. we love it. i would highly recommend the car. but if you're going to order it, just beware that you might have to test your patience a bit! :-)
