spring around here is always amazing. the grass turns this technicolor green that doesn't seem quite real. the tress have these beautiful pink and white and purple flowers on them that then rain down on you when the spring breezes blow and leave behind new green leaves. everyone comes back outside. the kids are dirty and good-tired at the end of the day. the temperatures are that perfect inbetween so that the windows can be open and the freshness of the breezes blowing through the house feel like they are cleaning out the cobwebs of the frozen winter (ok. they are also blowing a yellow layer of pollen all over everything...but this is REAL LIFE, not a movie :-))
flowers are not usually something i love. most of them just seem to make a mess and die too quickly. but i LOVE tulips. LOVE them. and i actually have just decided i also love daffodils. a friend gave me a bunch of daffodils for my birthday and they were so pretty on my dining room table!
we planted 100 red tulips in our front yard this past fall. they have slowly been coming up...and they bloomed this week! i LOVE them!
i can't get enough of sitting on my front porch and taking the beauty in. anytime i get a couple minutes, i go sit out there. those tulips aren't going to last long...and i wanted to soak their beauty in as much as possible!
i'm reading "bloom" by kelle hampton. it's been the perfect book to read in that spot. perfect.
and she belongs in this "beauty" post, doesn't she?? especially with that outfit :-)
gosh. she is too much. beauty. i am overwhelmed with how much is right in front of my eyes!
