new years

spending new years with our closest friends is such a FUN tradition!!!

the fogarty's arrived sunday evening.
we had a BIG breakfast the next morning (yes. 8:15 am.)
and then headed over to the young's house for a couple hours. they were SO kind to let us all come over and also feed us a yummy lunch!! this is the only picture i have...but there was lots of fun!
we came back to our house for the afternoon (us and the fogarty's) and let the younger kids take naps. the older kids had this countdown to keep them busy for the afternoon...a different little activity each hour. things like: have thumb wars, drink hot chocolate, play balloon volleyball...
one of the activities was to pack bags to hand out to homeless people we might come across...we'll keep them in the back of our car.

volleyball.

the ayer's came mid-afternoon...and leah brought some YUMMY food! not a great picture...but it shows the counters full of food and drinks...and people i LOVE in my kitchen! it makes me so happy!
7 pm was the kids "new year countdown"!

cheers!
this smile of his is rare...which makes it so precious!
then pat's parents came over to watch 9 kids (!) i know, they are amazing! and we headed back to the young's - just the adults! sitting by the fire, yummy drinks, great conversation.
love these girls!

NEVER enough time to get all my words out with her!
the young's made the MOST amazing dinner! steak, lobster tail, asparagus and twice baked potatoes. i am still full...
cheers! (ali set her camera up on a tripod in the corner and had a remote - so fun!!)

we didn't turn the tv on to watch the ball drop until the countdown was less than 2 minutes. the evening went by WAY too fast. we are so blessed to have such amazing friends in our lives!

Love the balloon idea. Now, if I could just remember it for next year!

1. I would like to be adopted by Pat's parents. Seriously.
2. I love the balloon idea, too.
3. It makes me smile to see you guys having so much fun. Our night went by quickly too... so quickly we missed the ball dropping and just got to see all the people in Time Square kissing each other. That was no fun at all. So we turned it back off and continued our game.
