it's friday

this week started off with 70 degree days. that's pretty insane for virginia in december.
so we ate lunch outside. in short sleeves! so fun!!
i took sawyer shopping for his presents to his siblings. he was the last one that needed to go. it was so fun!
BUT...i don't think i realized HOW attached sawyer and levi are!!?? when i left with sawyer, levi went BA-LLISTIC! and, while we were driving to target, sawyer said, "is levi here? is he in his seat?" (it was dark. and, levi is so dark that he could be there and you wouldn't know it! for REAL!) i said, "no. he's at home. do you want him to be here?" and he said, "yes! he can just sit in the cart at target!"

so so cute! i love that! i guess they really are NEVER apart except when they are sleeping...
i knocked out a good part of my christmas list one morning. these 2 are pretty easy shoppers!
and...when we were at target shopping for sawyer's gifts for him to GIVE...he found this set of hot wheels that he wanted SO bad (it had 2 boats, a jeep...) i told him we could come back the next day (knowing i was planning on going there anyways) and bring his money. i could have bought it FOR him, and had him pay me, but i wanted him to have to wait a bit.  we tried to hide the set and hoped it would be where we left it.

i wasn't sure if he'd remember the next morning. ha! it was the FIRST thing he said!

the next day, when we went, it wasn't where we left it. so we went back to the toy section. not there. i asked the lady at the return desk. not there. we went back and searched all the checkout lanes (that's where he had found it to begin with) and he FOUND it! it made him buying it THAT MUCH MORE sweet!

paying for his cars...
opening them up...
he has slept with the 2 boats in his hand ever since. those things are TREASURES to him. but, isn't anything that WE have to sacrifice to get?

our act of kindness yesterday was hiding dollars in the dollar store. that was FUN!
i'm not great at doing "fun" things during sawyer's preschool time. it's typically pretty basic and short and sweet and let's move on to the rest of our day!

but, i had seen this idea on pinterest and knew it would be fun AND good for him to do all the steps. it took us 2 days. but it turned out so cute!
tonight is pizza/movie night. this is funny: i pretty much always grocery shop on friday mornings. for the last couple months, we started the whole pizza/movie night. the kids LOVE it. when i'm at sam's, i buy pizza for that night (to me, it's a compromise, i don't have to MAKE the pizza - which is what i typically do, but we aren't ORDERING pizza - which is expensive.) so, now, when i go to grab the pizza at sam's, levi says, "movie night!!" in the MOST excited voice! kids are so easy to please and can bring a day SO much joy!

i hope your weekend is full of joy - the little, simple kind and the big, amazing kind!

I love hearing how attached Sawyer and Levi are. That is really precious isn't it. Bonding of two brothers.....with mom too!!! Precious days Courtney. I love how you are cherishing them.

Levi in the dark car... He's a ninja.

We did chili and a movie night. It was labor intensive, hot and spicy deliciousness, but we all loved it.
