water is flowing!!!

close to 2 years ago we organized a water walk  in our neighborhood. we were able to donate over $5000 as a result of it and we just got the pictures from the well most of our money built!

charity:water does such an amazing job SHOWING you where your money went. we had to be patient for it...but it was worth the wait!

our well was built in a village in ethiopia. it serves 160 people.

the people of the village built that wall on their own initiative, to keep animals our and to protect their well. it is a VALUABLE thing to them! such a humbling thing (as our water was turned off today for 30 minutes while some work was being done and i was reminded, yet again, how much i take running water for granted!)
God gave me this idea 2 years ago. i went forward with it...even though it seemed crazy. not as many kids showed up that day as i hoped. but God turned a small water walk in our little neighborhood into something that built a well for a village and it will give them LIFE!! that is so humbling!!! i pray this encourages YOU to do those "crazy" ideas that He puts in your head and heart!

I was like "I'm going to be tough. I will not cry." and then I saw "Broadlands Well" on the plaque and I totally choked up! I'm such a softy! What a good thing He did through you because you were willing.

Now that is amazing!!! Seriously...what a moment that must have been to see those pictures for the first time. Wow!!!

I do get crazy ideas and I pretty much always dismiss them. Now every time I get a crazy idea I'm going to think of this.

This is so cool. I've been thinking about doing something like this in our neighborhood this year. I need to get my rear in gear!

And please also add in the $1500 you inspired me to raise in my neighborhood. We didn't dig a well but we provided training and education on water issues. God is good!
