today was bailey's birthday!!!
she asked for cinnamon rolls for breakfast, "like rebekah".
and she opened 1 gift this morning. we don't usually do that...but she opened earrings!! and i wanted to take her after school to get her ears pierced.
a month or so ago, she started saying she wanted to get her ears pierced. which is what got rebekah even thinking about it. up until then, rebekah always said she was NEVER getting her ears pierced.
i had to wait until i was 13 to get my ears pierced (which i think is a fine age to do it!) and just never really thought about what our "rule" was going to be. we talked about it, and decided bailey (because she's BAILEY!) should have her ears pierced. i mean, how has she lived this long without it?!? and we were fine with rebekah doing it, too. (and we had no other gift ideas!) so. both girls got their ears pierced. boom. done.
sawyer helped me make her cake this morning.
i sent her off to school with a VERY special lunch: rotini noodles with pepperoni, a clementine, kettle corn and a hostess cupcake (that she said someone made her drop on the floor and she didn't get to eat!)
after school, we headed to the mall!!
picking out her earrings.
before:
we took over the store...
during:
after the first ear:
she definitely cried. and screamed. and caused a HUGE scene. and i wasn't sure we were going to convince her to do the second one.
(rebekah had my camera)
"bailey. look at my eyes. just look at my eyes."
after:
and 2 minutes later:
came home and made dinner and took baths.
rebekah "made" this whole amazing party for her and set it up while i gave everyone baths.
she made the tissue paper flowers, and there are 7 ribbons hanging from the light (because bailey is 7)
we have placemats and special PINK cups and silverware tied with ribbons around special napkins.
i know. amazing.
bailey's dinner request: spaghetti and fruit
opening her gifts and cards...
because rebekah has REAL glasses now, she gave bailey her old "pretend" glasses.
and one final touch. rebekah MADE bubbles (because we don't already have like 62 bottles of them in the cabinet) and blew them on bailey as she opened her gifts.
VERY specific cake request: PINK cake with PINK icing and rainbow sprinkles
gosh. she is SO fun to celebrate!!!
i'm sad she's 7. she has been the FUNNEST little girl. THE FUNNEST. i don't want her to get older. i love my "fancy nancy", pink-loving, crazy flying away hair little bailey.
she's still the same in there, i know. she will always just carry such joy with her. for that, i am SO thankful! God sure did a special job on that one!!
deciding what she's going to wish for.
happy birthday, bailey! we love you SO much!!!!

Happy Birthday, Bailey! You will always be a little bit of a Fancy Nancy.
Can I hire your Rebekah for my daughters' (twins) next Birthday Party (Wichita, KS)?? Happy Birthday to your sweet Bailey! I totally understand about not wanting them to grow up.
Oh yes, Happy Birthday to FUN Bailey!!!!!! Loved all the pics!!!!
First of all. that pic of sawyer licking the paddle attachment is priceless.
The earring pics of Bailey. WOW. Very dramatic.
But my favorites, I have 2. Bailey making her birthday wish and Rebekah blowing bubbles. Terrific
I have to say that I love the chair rebekah was sitting in, in the photos... like, seriously LOVE that chair!
Seeing Rebekah blow bubbles on Bailey while she was opening gifts just cracked me up. That sounds like an idea one of my girls would have.
Happy Birthday Sweet sweet girl!
