a "free" afternoon

we had a "free" afternoon yesterday. rebekah was the only one that was supposed to have swim team (schedule thing with the younger kids - they didn't have practice this ONE day) but she had strep, so we had NO sports.

it was 100 degrees outside.

dinner was brought and ready to be heated up in the fridge.

sounds pretty great, right??

after homework was finished, we headed outside.

first up...popsicles!

then we made "summer pictures" with pastels (there were a couple neighbors over...they just joined in!)

oil pastels are MESSY. but it doesn't matter if you're in your bathing suit and going to be in a sprinkler right after!

he thought coloring on himself...

...was SO funny!

i heated up our bbq chicken sandwiches and brought them outside. love sawyer walking around with the chip bag.

this was my dinner - half an avocado cut up and the crumbs of tortilla chips...made me SO happy!

headed in for baths and they went to bed pretty easily! :-)
