*i'm writing this on friday...after the wedding..but won't post it until next week to make sure everyone sees my special guest poster :-)
the royal wedding.
no...i wasn't totally "into" it. i hadn't heard ANYthing about it. i never watch/read the news.
but...i have a little girl in my house that LOVES princesses. and i wanted her to see it.
i'm SO glad we did!
i told her yesterday that a real princess was getting married today.
she said, "like cinderella?" with awe in her little voice.
she wanted to wear her easter dress in honor of the wedding :-)
watching.
i dvr'd it. and we just watched princess kate ride in the car and then walk into the church.
bailey could hardly STAND it while she was in the car...she wanted her to get out so badly so she could SEE her!
she looked up at me once princess kate was walking down the aisle and whispered, "she's so beautiful!"
it was precious.
i loved every moment.
and, as i sat there...watching this wedding take place...i prayed that the importance and magnitude of getting married was imprinted on my little girl's heart. that she gets that it's nothing to take lightly. that she hopes and expects for a man to love her and treat her like a princess. not in the "i can't do anything for myself" kind of princess (like i said, i know hardly anything about princess kate...but even in those few minutes, she comes across to me as a strong, confident woman that is perfectly capable of taking care of herself...but she has chosen to stand beside this man and welcome quite the interesting lifestyle - whew!).
a wedding should be a big deal. and i loved the memories from this morning. i look forward to watching it with rebekah later today!
after the wedding, we made muffins and played in a "fort" under the kitchen table. sawyer shared his muffin with his roly-poly. they are our pets :-) yesterday, i was walking from the kitchen to the front door and saw a roly-poly crawling on the floor. i said, "sawyer, your roly-poly is up here!" and then laughed! seriously? my life is a riot. and i love it.
once rebekah got home, i sat down with her and watched a little bit...bailey was ALL tired out from it all!
rebekah loved it too...in a different way...because she's older and it's more REAL..not a fairytale...but she loved it. and i loved watching it with her!

My boys watched it with me! Can you believe it? They were so fascinated.
I was four when I saw Diana marry prince Charles and I still remember it. So glad you took the time with Bailey and Rebekah...they really may carry that memory for a very long time!
