letters to my kids: part 4

rebekah,

you went to a father/daughter dance at church with your dad tonight.
you've been SO excited about it all week.
you grew your nails out (you bite them...) so that they would look better when you painted them.
you wanted to get dressed HOURS ahead of time.
once i finally told you it was time, you did it all by yourself.
even your hair.
i wanted to curl it for you.
you didn't want it curled {which i secretly LOVED}

i loved that you looked like YOU.
that's what i did on my wedding day...i didn't get my hair "done"...i wanted to look like ME!
your daddy was so excited to spend this time with you.
i LOVED how beautiful he made you feel...even in the days leading up to this...the anticipation of it all was so fun!
he took you to dinner at the cheesecake factory and had GOOD conversation with you.
then you did crafts and danced and took pictures and ate ice cream sundae's at church with lots of your friends and their dads.
he said it was the perfect environment to just have FUN with you.
you are a precious girl, rebekah. as soon as i think i can't love you anymore...i do.
God is using you in so many ways.
and He's growing you in so many ways.

i'm blessed to have a front row seat.

i love you, my beautiful daughter!

love, mom

Ummm...can I cry now? Totally love that they did a father/daughter dance. ABSOLUTELY LOVE that last picture of them together. Don't you wish you could have snuck a peek at the dance?
