chris and megan were part of that small group.
they were also newly married and just starting "real life."
we have been close friends for 11 years.
seeing each other weekly if not more often.
we each lived in apartments...then moved to townhouses...and now to houses.
we have had 1, then 2, then 3 (and, for us...4) kids.
we (megan and i) have transitioned from careers to staying at home with our kids.
we've vacationed together.
we've been through a LOT together...lots of laughter, lots of talking, some tears.
and they are moving.
only a little over an hour away...but around here it could easily take 3 hours to get there.
they are leaving our church...and it's all just really sad.
REALLY sad.
but last night was not sad (i determined that ahead of time.)
it was FUN.
and celebrating FRIENDSHIPS and who they are to each of us.
we had lots of yummy desserts.
and laughed.
and remembered.
and prayed for them.
LOTS of people love them!!!
they have been such FAITHFUL friends to us (and i know to many others!)
they have served and encouraged and challenged us like no other couple has.
we are excited for their next chapter.
but, oh how i will miss hugging this girl's neck each week.
megan - i love you.

i love those pics of you and megan!!!! I cried reading this post. I am going to miss seeing her too and I am going to have to make a point of driving near her just to see her when we are home on furlough!!! Glad it was such a fun time of celebration, they are an amazing couple!
