this morning started off with a RACE!!!
a 5k race was this morning about 10 minutes from our house.
and it was followed with a fun run for the kids.
i normally run 12 miles or so on saturdays...so 3.1 miles wasn't going to be the issue.
{pat asked me, "are you going to be ok?? just running 3 miles?? :-) i think i might have to go ride my bike this afternoon!}
but i wanted to push myself to run faster.
i've got the distance thing down...not so much the speed.
i typically run a 9:30-10:00 mile when i run any distance.
my goal was to run a 9 minute mile the whole time for the 5k.
my average pace for the 5k was 8:26!!!!
i was pretty psyched.
that's fast for me.
probably not for many people...especially such a short distance...but i was very excited about it!
remi and i both ran it.
it's always fun to have a friend there with you!
and our kids did the fun run together...just rebekah from our family...and robert and sophie from hers.
sophie and rebekah
stretching :-)
they held hands most of the race
the kids got pink medals at the end - pretty cool!
{the race benefited breast cancer}
remi and 2 of her kids
after the races there were lots of fun things to do...moonbounce, face painting, dogs for sawyer to chase...and awesome weather to do it in!
