i've been asked various questions over the last month and have been jotting them down for "when i get the time to answer"...i don't really have the time...but i'm so sick of that little piece of paper laying by my computer! :-)
here we go!
*where did i order my Christmas cards from?? ETSY, of course!! she designed them. i paid her $15 to design them. and was going to just print off the picture (the front of the card) somewhere and then do a letter. and then she let me know about the card option..with the black and white option on the back...so i had her do the printing! (and, really, she had them printed from Vistaprint...so if you can design things...you can do it yourself!) i loved how they turned out and she was great to work with! {Holly...i loved yours even more though! keeping that in mind for next year...}
*no one asked...but my flat iron died recently and a blog friend {hi, Amy!} had mentioned her "Instyler"...so i bought one off Craigs list and LOVE it. my hair feels so much healthier and not as brittle and gross. between the chlorine from the pool and drying and straightening my hair most days, my hair gets a lot of beating. but the Instyler seems much gentler than your normal flat iron!
*where did i get the vinyl lettering on the wall above our bed? once again, etsy. just type "vinyl letters" in the search box and LOTS of people sell them! i did it for you...here you go! it is the BEST! easy to apply...and when you take it off it doesn't leave anything behind!
*you mentioned teaching yourself to breathe on both sides when you swim...why and have you done it? i want to teach myself to be able to breathe on both sides when i swim at the suggestion of a friend {hi, Cary!} for if {WHEN!} i do a triathlon and i have to swim in a lake/ocean and don't have that line on the bottom of the pool to guide me. if you can breathe on both sides, you'll swim in more of a straight line. and, YES! i have taught myself and it is now just how i swim...alternating between sides to breathe. have i mentioned that i love swimming?? i do.
*why are you adopting 2 boys?? why boys?? this is a hard one to answer. not because i'm not sure. but because it's hard to put into words. kinda like when people ask me "why are you adopting from Rwanda?" and "why are you adopting 2 kids instead of 1?" the simple answer to ALL of those questions is because that's what God has led us to do. sounds cliche and like a cop-out...but it's the truth. it doesn't mean i think EVERYONE should do that...God calls some to adopt from China (or the US or Brazil) just as strongly as He has called us to adopt from Rwanda. and we feel like He has called us to 2 little boys in Rwanda. we do have some more practical or personal reasons also for the "boy" aspect...like the hair for girls...or the drama for girls (that we already have plenty of in our house!) but neither of those things would deter us from adopting a girl if God was calling us to that! i hope that helps a bit...i know it's not a great answer. but i can tell you that we are more sure about adopting 2 little boys from Rwanda than we are about many other things in our lives {like what i should make for dinner tonight...sloppy joe's? or enchilada's??}! God's answer has been crystal clear and we are moving full steam ahead!!!
there you have it.
your answers.
let me know if you have any other burning questions!

thanks! ;-)
Jake and I are tossing around the 'two boy' idea.
and it scares me on many levels.
I figured that'd be your answer - just cause that's so you!
and I'm gonna have to say that'd be our answer too, if we do get a clearer answer because it would make NO sense otherwise!
So glad you are loving the InStyler! :) You must be even more beautiful now! :)
I have thought of the Instyler many times. Wondering if my hair is too short for it though. I read that it was pretty big. Still tossing that idea around in my head. Glad to hear you like it though. Craigslist is a great idea too.
