this whole "water" thing??
what's the big deal?
do i really think i can make a difference??
there are so many "causes" and "crises"...WHY water??
let me see if i can answer some of those... {which no one has come out and asked, by the way, but i know some of you are wondering!} and then...
i will try to contain myself and stop talking about this.
i just wanted to share more of where i'm coming from.
i didn't feel like my initial post yesterday shared it that well {i had a splitting headache!}

WATER has hit me so hard because it's such a simple thing.
a simple thing that i take for granted every day.
i can't imagine having to work so hard to get my children some nasty water so they don't die of dehydration...but then wondering if that water {and the gross stuff in it} will kill them.
it's almost beyond my comprehension.
except i can imagine.
and it's NOT ok.
{photo from charity:water}
"Of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and a lack of basic sanitation, 90% are children under 5 years old."
from charity:water.org
we can fix it!
we have solutions...and resources...and we just need to GIVE IT TO THEM!!!
we CAN make a difference and we have!
yes, we've built wells {in 1 year, water4christmas has raised $100,000!}
and i am awed by that. it's awesome!
but it's JUST as awesome to see 1 "little" life changed.
to see the piece of paper Rebekah brought home from school today...a list of the kids in her class that want to order "water" shirts...complete with size and color.
she GETS it.
she's passionate enough about it to ask everyone in her class.
and tell them what it's for.
THAT is a difference...ripples, we like to say...
i'm not trying to guilt you into anything.
so many of you are so involved in so many GREAT things.
i truly believe God calls us each to things...and this might not be yours.
we can't ALL "do" water...there are lots of other causes that also need our attention!
BUT...i am just trying to share my heart.
where i'm coming from.
and allow you the opportunities to be blessed by blessing others.
and for those of you with children...
{this is HUGE for me}
this is such a tangible way for us to share "loving the least of these" with them.
$20 is a very attainable number.
and you have given a person clean water for life!
does that get your blood pumping or what?!?
so...
donate
shop
shop some more
pray
thank those driving all of this
thank God for the clean water you just took a sip of
and appreciate the luxury we all have to chase our babies around the house and hear their giggles {some of you don't have that specific luxury...but something just as great!}...because we aren't spending hours out of our day walking to collect contaminated water...
