we knew it wouldn't last...

and it was really getting on my nerves this week...

THE mohawk...

i like it.
i think it's cute.
and SO many people comment on it...

but i already do 2 girls' hair every morning.

i don't need another child's hair to "do."
and i have to do his twice a day...the gel wears off...

so i knew it wouldn't last.

but then we got a call yesterday!

from our home study social worker!!!
she's coming TOMORROW!

{some last family pics with the mohawk...and our water shirts!...and some silliness :-) i LOVE joshua looking at me in this one!}

so...the mohawk is leaving {i KNOW, i know...it doesn't have to...but it was just a good thing to put me over the edge}...

good thing Monday is my cleaning day!

{so basically, once our social worker meets with ALL of us (which we are hoping she has time to do it ALL tomorrow...it "normally" takes 2 meetings) she will write up our home study and we will be DONE with at least 1 major part of this process!!!! we are ready to check something off...did you know there is a 99% chance that our kids are born now? did you know that i think about that every day...many times?}

i have been thinking about your "new" kiddos all weekend. don't know why...just been on my mind recently. :) my heart has ached all weekend since you posted about Gavin. i read their blog and weeped!! holly turned 6 today and we had a great day as a family but all day i have been thinking that as i am celebrating one of my kids, another family is saying "see you later" to theirs and that breaks my heart. and i keep thinking how this is happening all the time with stories i never know. and it just makes me so sad. i am rambling now. sorry! just too many emotions running through my head

those are some awesome shots. I love them all and Sawyer just sitting there holding a football... awesome!

Okay as for Joshua's hair... I wish I knew you were using gel before, that is NOT the right stuff to use (for future, if you let him use it again). All you need is some hair wax, it is cheap and comes in a can shaped like deodorant. It twists up like deodorant and is hard. Joshua could do it ALL HIMSELF. He just rubs it on and then pushes it up, and it works like magic... seriously. All day long it could stay and it could easily be pushed around and it is soft NOT hard like gel. It is awesome. Zach can teach him when we are back :)

I will be praying your home study is done in 1 meeting not two. :)
