she keeps me from being too serious

it's true that God knows what we need.
He knew i needed Bailey.
especially these days.
when i want to be "too serious."

i think i've already said it, but part of our "new schedule" gives bailey, sawyer and i about 1 hour together...just the 3 of us.

which ends up being all about bailey.
because sawyer is just happy to tag along.

the last couple days have been especially enjoyable.
i cleared my schedule and i've just been focusing on my kids.
playing when it's playtime.
discipline when it's needed...consistently.
not being on the computer much {the posts from yesterday and today were done on sunday. set to post later. i never do that. i don't like to post ahead...or behind. i like it to be "real time". but i needed it these couple days.}
getting to bed on time...all of us {pat and i were in bed at 9:30!}.
reading together.
listening to them while looking at their faces when they talk to me.

yesterday was pictionary.
i guess it's not often that i say, "bailey, what would YOU like to do?"
she beams.
and i truly never know what she's going to come up with!

this was a dinosaur.

everytime i guess what her picture is {and only she draws. i never get to draw.} she makes this face.
{i was taking pictures from my lap. she's "anti-camera" these days so i couldn't really take pictures. she was ok with my camera in my lap.}

and then i think she decides if that sounds like a reasonable answer or not.
{i'm not sure she even knows what she's drawing.}

"yay! you got it right, mom! good job!"

and, this, CLEARLY, was...a sailboat!
with polka dots! :-)

she is too much.

this morning, we were driving to the gym.
it was 7:47 am.
my mind was already full of "worries" and too noisy.
no one was talking.

bailey says from the back seat,
"Mom, God knows how many hairs we have."

just a simple statement.
seemed like straight from Heaven through that sweet angel voice.

ok, God. i get it.
You are in control.

i could stare into those eyes all day.

today's pick was...going to the playground.
"the one with 4 swings."

she stopped to pick dandelions on the way.

she picked out her outfit today :-)
tutu/tutu shirt/headband/pink flower ring and all!

she agreed to a few pictures.
i wanted to get some of her jumping.
it wasn't working with her by herself.
she wanted me to jump with her.
how could i say no??
{i forgot that the camera was set up to fit her in the picture...not me :-)}

"bailey, what should we do next??"

"ring around the rosy!"

sure, sweet girl.
thanks for making me laugh...from my heart all the way out to my face.

LOVE her outfit. And that she picked it herself. And the drawing. And the faces.

And YOU. And ps, I will never listen to you complain about those last 5 pounds or the "CHUB", because those are flat out lies. You look amazing. I don't care what you say. I refuse to acknowedge those comments as legitimate. Ever Again.

Eat the dang ice cream already.
