cleaning day

some of us handled cleaning day better than others...

it took me 2 hours exactly.
here are the details {for those who care}
for years, i've done the same cleaning schedule.
tweaking here and there. but basically the same.
i clean something each day {Mon - bathrooms, Tues - dust and vacuum the whole house, etc.}
i have some chores that are done weekly and some that are done monthly.

well, maybe with summer around the corner, i just couldn't do it anymore.
i spend my whole morning trying to FIGHT for 30 minutes to clean and it stresses me out and i hate it. every. day.

so, my thought is that i'll dread cleaning day. but at least it's just 1 day.
and i won't do the gym or school, so there's not 3 things i "need" to be doing all at the same time.
which is what makes me crazy.

here's what is done on "cleaning day":
clean 4 bathrooms
dust everywhere
vacuum everywhere
clean the kitchen
sweep main floor (1/2 of it is wood floors)
mop main floor
change sheets on all beds

i did most of those things today.
it will depend on circumstances sometimes.
we are having a get together on saturday, so i just wiped down the kitchen.
i'll clean it better tomorrow night after i'm done with all my cooking/preparing for saturday.
and i just changed the sheets the other day, so i didn't do the sheets.
also, everything was PICKED UP before i started. so i had a picked up house to clean.
which goes MUCH faster than having to pick up as you clean.
and i don't deep clean.
just spray and swipe mostly.
if it's done each week, that's all it needs, right?

then, i printed out my monthly chores on 1 list.
and i will do them as i get a chance.
hopefully they will get done sometime in the next month.

here are the monthly chores:
Sweep and vinegar floors
Clean the main floor baseboards/windowsills/blinds
Go through upstairs bathroom cabinets/closet
Clean and straighten our drawers/closet
Windex windows/mirrors
Clean microwave, oven, fridge
Clean cabinet doors
Clean chairs in kitchen and dining room
Clean Sawyer’s room – drawers and closet
Clean basement: vacuum, straighten, purge
Clean basement bathroom
Clean Joshua’s room – drawers and closet
Clean upstairs windowsills, baseboards and blinds
Clean Rebekah and Bailey’s room – drawers and closet

still no shower.
but off to run a couple errands before lunch...
very exciting post here in the life of the cassada's. :-)

I like all in one day too. At least your WHOLE house is clean all at once...even if it only lasts a few minutes! ;)
