but i didn't get home til 11:30 pm. got 5ish hours of sleep. up to read and then run. get everyone up. breakfast. rebekah off to school in tears - the retainer thing is just a little hard and she's on edge {and throw a little argument with pat into the morning mix}. off to the gym to swim. shower. dry and straighten my hair {i know! what's gotten into me, huh?} to walmart and then Sam's to grocery shop {it's 10ish by this point. sawyer normally naps from 8:30 am to 10 - so he was a bit cranky}. home. unload groceries. put them away. start a load of laundry. {let sawyer sleep for about 20 minutes} pack lunches. grab sawyer from his bed. walk {bikes, helmets...} up to rebekah's school to eat lunch with her {and i got her a special treat from the grocery store that she can eat with her retainer!} walk back home. nurse sawyer while reading the other 2 books. all kids to bed {and i took a little snooze...i'd never make it through the afternoon with homework and dinner and tball practice without it...} and here i am! whew!
last night was SO fun.
one of those nights that just kind of happened "last minute" and ended up so perfect!
katy was in town this week. at her mom's.
and she's moving to SC in a month, so she'll be even furthur away.
so we were going to get together for dinner last night.
just needed some more time with her.
i emailed jenny to let her know.
{she just had a baby 2 weeks ago, so i knew she couldn't come, but i wanted her to know...}
and she CAME!
we have been friends for a LONG TIME.
since we were in high school.
i've lived a LOT of life with these girls.
{you KNEW i had to post one...sorry :-)}
i am so thankful for them.
this was when we got together almost 2 years ago.
jenny had just had jackson and katy had just had callie.
there were 7 kids then...almost 10 now {katy is pregnant}!
this was last night.
{don't they look AMAZING?!? 2 weeks postpartum and 5 months pregnant?}
we have husbands and houses and "big" cars and lots of kids.
and we were saying we still don't feel like we're "grown up".
will we ever feel grown up?
i feel like i'm playing house sometimes :-)
what fun it was to be together!
so many memories with these girls.
they just KNOW, you know? you don't have to explain.

It was SO great to be with you girls last night. Made my heart so happy :) I love going through life with you two - and love that we have made so many fun memories together. The lack of sleep last night was more than worth it.

I LOVE that first picture! That's the Katy I first met my freshman yr. at Liberty. I so remember her talking about her friends Jenn and Courtney and I would talk about my high school friends Katie, Mandy and Sarah! Ha! Those were the days! And now I totally stalk your blog! I'm so glad you guys had that special time together! Friendships like that are something to be celebrated!
Okay, Courtney...Cary read the posting about your busy day last night and said "oh my gosh! Courtney is AMAZING." Your awesome time management, exercising, parenting skills are incredible. However, it's making some of us look bad! ;) I want to be like you one day *but maybe not with 4 kids...we'll see*.
i think the FIRST picture of us was better than the next one - how fat was I? good grief!!! It was SO much fun to all 3 be together - witbout the distraction of anything else. it was such a delicious surprise for me - totally makes my heart smile even now thinking about it!!!
