this was the last night we'll see this sight...
(and we NEVER see this sight in daylight, might i add!)
pat bought this car...used..when we were either dating or engaged.
it's a "95 (?) Honda Accord.
we were in college.
he has driven it for 11ish years.
it hasn't had air conditioning for at least 3 years.
(and with a 30-60 minute commute...that's a big deal during our brutal summers.)
he has been a trooper.
it still runs.
but we have started having to put more and more money into it.
not to mention the speedometer and odometer don't even work.
so, he's been saving for a new car for awhile.
he really didn't want to acquire any new debt.
so we waited til we could buy it "in full."
now, i need to brag on my husband for a bit here.
who needs dave ramsey (i've never read/researched his stuff...i know it's great...NOT cutting on him at ALL) or Crown ministries classes, when you've got Pat Cassada for a husband?? not me!
he is so wise with our money.
we've had days where we lived paycheck to paycheck.
and we've made some big decisions based on financial "things" in the past that were scary.
but i NEVER doubted his wisdom in those decisions.
i trust him completely.
and God has blessed his wise decisions always (that doesn't mean He gave us more money always - although He does do that sometimes...but He does ALWAYS bless)
back to the car.
he's been researching cars for a long time.
he wanted something kind of fun.
he's waited a long time for a new car.
he does have a "thing" about new cars.
that way he knows EVERYTHING that has been done or not done to his car.
he's wants to buy "new" and drive it til it dies (or close enough to it).
he was all over the place...sports car? SUV? luxury sedan?
i loved watching him work through the process.
he decided on a new Honda Accord.
dark grey. and he put his foot down about black leather inside. :-)
{even though it's hot and shows the wear more quickly.}
he's there right now buying it.
and i'm so excited for him and proud of him.
{he's going to hate this post. but he really doesn't get enough time here on this blog, does he?}

Yea, Pat. And yea, Courtney for bragging on him!
Sounds like he earned the new car!
I KNEW he would go with the Accord! He's just too practical to do otherwise. :) Hope he really enjoys his new ride!

Yay for Pat, even though he didn't go with the infiniti. I am sure he will get 11 more years out of this Accord, so I'm glad he got his leather seats! And maybe bluetooth or GPS or something else fun. Thanks for Pat and his convictions on budget and how he passed those along to shepherd group. It was/is a huge blessing!
yeah you get to brag on him!
and the blogosphere--yeah, i'm pretty sure that's the modern day city gate, so have at it :) be proud. chat it up. say more than he ever thinks you need to about how much you love him and how proud you are of him. indulge.
nice work, pat. well done!
