we are leaving in the morning for our annual beach week with friends from college.
we're excited.
i'm beyond stressed. it's for a GREAT reason, but it doesn't change how many things need to be done to pack for 6 people for a week...on the first week of school...and i can hardly keep up with my "normal" life as it is...
so. people keep asking, "what about the hurricane?"
what hurricane?
i haven't turned the tv on in days. i don't know about any hurricane. i don't know who Palin is. all i know is if my kids have been fed today, how many hours til sawyer needs to eat, and MAYBE what's for dinner tonight (whatever is left in the fridge!)
i'm so out of touch.
i think it annoys people sometimes...sorry. i don't have time (or really the desire) to know all about "other" things...if i DO have a few minutes, i'd rather be reading a friend's blog or catching up on email or reading a book.

I'm with you there. If I did not have a dentist appointment (where they have a tv mounted on the ceiling while you sit in the chair) the day before the Olympics began, I would not have known they were starting. A family member told us of the political conventions....we don't turn on the tv much (at least not for the adults in the house!) and with my spare time, I like to read blogs. Being "in touch" is overrated!
I totally understand...but PLEASE turn on the TV tonight. The winds and rains have started here tonight and it is going to be nasty tomorrow. They aren't even letting people drive past 8 pm tonight in the Outer Banks. Just check it out...
haha, I don't know anything about it either and I only have 1 kid! we are thinking about leaving tomorrow night around 6 or 7 when the worst of the weather is done (and Caroline is sleeping) but I want to leave earlier than that if possible. can't wait!
