I can't help you with the water thing. But what I've noticed is that when the ice starts tasting bad, it makes the water taste bad so I dump all the ice out and start over...Try that.

yes! Did you just change the filter? if so, let a couple of gallons run out of it before you use it. if not, it may be time to change the filter. ours always tastes weird after we change the filter for a couple of days. then it gets back to normal

yup - it's the filter! ours started tasting rough a few months ago and we changed the filter and it was back to normal!
Everyone already told you...filter!!! Keep in mind that after being sick (& prego too) your mouth may taste lots of things that seem off...
