a song by Sarah McLauchlan
i have some fun pictures and some fun "moments" and some fun stories from this weekend. but my camera battery is dead and i'm tired.
and, really, i saw this video(that's kind of old and most of you have probably seen it) but my mind and my heart were captured. "celebrities" really get a pretty bad "rap" overall - and quite a few of them do a whole lot of "good" with their stardom, benefits and money.
if you are reading this, then you are rich. you have electricity and a computer and a roof over your head. there's GOT to be a way to bridge the distance between us, who are SO rich, and those who are so poor. as much as i want there to be a "quick fix", i know there's not. because we live in a fallen world that literally groans for perfection again. when will that happen?
when Jesus returns. and not before.
BUT, that doesn't mean that we aren't called to do all we can today. right now. maybe it's sponsoring a child in afghanistan.
maybe it's going to visit your elderly neighbor.
maybe it's helping with your missions conference at church.
maybe it's adopting a child from africa.
maybe it's praying for those who are there - in the "trenches".
our world IS on fire. we can't put it out. i don't mean to sound negative, but i'm not one to say what you want to hear unless it's the truth.
but we can glorify the Lord that gives us the blessings most of us have every day by loving those less fortunate who are all around us...as close as next door...and as far away as China.
sorry about the speech. i'll be back tomorrow with some "cute" pictures and stories for you. but, this shows my heart more than that will.
