happy anniversary, pat!

9 years ago today we entered into this thing called marriage. i remember that day SO well...so much joy, so much love, so many special people around us, so much hope.

now, 9 years later, i'm so thankful for the man that is my husband. he loves me more than i could ever hope to be loved...in ways that continue to surprise and amaze me. he's SO quick to admit when he's wrong...and i'm so slow to admit when i'm wrong. yet, he is so patient and forgiving of me. he is such a strong leader...something that our men today seem to really struggle with. he loves the Lord and seeks His will in all we do...and i completely trust his decisions. it is such a "safe" place to be - in this marriage with this man that would never intentionally hurt me and is always loving me in new ways. he is an AMAZING father - something i couldn't have known going into it. but my girls are so blessed to have a dad that cherishes them and is teaching them how a "dad" should love their "mom." and joshua is so blessed to have a dad that is modeling how to be a man one day.

pat, i didn't know that i could love you any more than the day that we got married. but, every day i love you more...as i get to know you more and see how God is molding and shaping us. i'm so thankful for you, that i get to go through life next to you, i couldn't ask for more. i love you.

(no crazy celebrations tonight. we have a neighbor's 4 year old birthday party this evening...and 6 other things between now and then. maybe i'll make a fun dessert for after the kids go to bed. we're going to Charleston, SC in a couple weeks for 5 days - just the 2 of us - that's our anniversary celebration!)
