cherries

i've always loved a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. but i've never really eaten "fresh" cherries - like as a fruit. well, lydia brought a bowl full of cherries to shepherd group and graciously left the extras...i've been eating them for my mid-morning snack and i LOVE them! so, since i love them, i decided to look up if they are even good for you (i was assuming since i loved them - of course they probably don't have hardly any nutritional value) and check this out:

Cherries provide a great source of nutrition for athletes who put a lot of stress and strain on their joints.

It cleanses the system and is good for dental problems. It is useful for lack of sleep.

Cherries contain a phytochemical called ellagic acid that protects against cancer by blocking an enzyme needed for growth of cancer cell.

they also have about 75 calories for a cup of them...i don't know if that's good or bad - but it doesn't sound too bad!

just thought i'd share...
