my kids...
our family!
grandmommy an granddad (pat's parents)
grandma and papa (my parents)
hannah (my sister) is home from college for the summer! yea!
We "dedicated" Bailey at church today. the following is the "purpose" of doing this...
"Dedications serve as a vessel for parents to express gratitude to God and acknowledge their responsibility before Him in raising their children. Our services follow in the spirit of Hannah who offered her son Samuel completely for the Lord’s work (I Samuel 1:27, 28). Children are indeed a gift from God, and as parents we want the Lord to have full sway in their lives."
this doesn't "save" bailey in any way...we are dedicating ourselves, as her parents, to raising her according to His word, the Bible.
i read for a while this afternoon...cleaned up the kitchen from the morning...mowed the grass...and we're about to go out to eat. i don't have to cook OR clean up dinner!
i count it a blessing to be a mom. God has given me 3 precious children and i don't take one day with them for granted (well, i'm sure there are times that i do...but i try not to). yes, being a mom can be "hard" but the blessings far outweigh the trying parts of it. i wouldn't trade it for anything.
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Revelation 4:11
Lord, I give you glory and honor for the 3 children you created and placed in my life. Thank you for the joy and blessing it is to be their mom. In your name, Amen.
