a moment of kindness

bailey is writing a story. like, a NOVEL. a LOOONG story.
Joshua is taking keyboarding this year and is getting pretty speedy at typing.

bailey asked Joshua if he would type for her and she would dictate what she wanted to be written down. he said, "sure" without hesitation. it was such an act of kindness. it's not ALWAYS the case. but it sure was a sweet moment!

{side note: we have put the computer that the kids can use right in the family room. we are not messing around with all the dangers out there and want that thing where LOTS of eyes can see what is being done on it. our older 3 kids have iphones/ipods but NONE of them have internet on it. they come with it ON them...but you can remove it and then put a password on "adding" or "deleting" apps so that they can't add it. call us strict. call us crazy. amazingly, our kids are surviving just fine! :-)}

I call you really smart! I didn't realize you can have an iphone or ipod without internet but still be able to text. That's great to know.

we were JUST having this conversation with our girls. two oldest just got tablets with NO internet access for them. they have to use the computer that is in our kitchen/family room area to get on internet. ours aren't complaining about anything (at least not right now) - they understand. but I read them the last paragraph that you wrote and told them that scott and i aren't the only parents out there that are like this. ;-)

I believe that every student should take keyboarding as Joshua is doing...a skill that he will use for a lifetime!!!

I LOVE how Bailey is writing a novel...and can't wait until I read the updated version!!

love knowing this! hoping this is the way we will do things when the time comes. I'm totally cool being a "strict" parent. way to go!
