friday afternoon :: week 5

this week was FLOORS. my kids were in school most of the week (1 2 hr delay one morning) so that was nice!

but the process of getting new floors was LOUD and MESSY! whew!

the crew that did it all did an AMAZING job.

the floors took 2 1/2 days. then the stairs were started. we had a runner up the stairs. and they are actual wood (our other floors were the fake kind so couldn't be refinished. so they are staining the stairs and trying to match the color to our new floors as close as they can.

the runner was taken off. and then the stairs were sanded...it took 2 WHOLE days of sanding.

and they JUST began staining it about an hour ago.

they will come back tomorrow AND sunday and do 2 coats of polyurethane. THEN next week (i think?) painters will come and paint the railing and risers.
some little bits were done on the kitchen one day this week.
these pendant lights were hung (i LOVE THEM!!!)
dishwasher installed...(i can't WAIT to use it!)
all we have left is the backsplash in the kitchen. and the stairs/railings painted for the rest of the house. whew!
i did start unpacking some of the boxes and putting things in the cabinets. that was fun!

Henry is probably logged in so this is Leighann… :) I love, love, love the pendants in the kitchen. just gorgeous. And you're going to love your stairs. We took up our carpet and stained/painted the stairs when we moved in 2.5 years ago. It makes such a difference. The one thing I will warn you about is most stairs are made out of pine, which is a soft wood, so they get knicked easily. Just know that they will get used. :) I bet you are loving all the changes!

Congratulations what a wonderful kitchen! Full of light, I love the white!

We are also renovating the house but we camped at my mother's house and I can not wait to go back to my space.

Compliments also for your beautiful family, I'm thinking ... but how do you do it all?
