ha!
what a title, huh?
these days have been sweet lately.
i'm not sure if it's me focusing on how He loves us more intentionally, or if things truly are sweet, but i'll take it!
these 2 both made hats in school the other day. sawyer - Clifford (fire safety week) and Lincoln - Christopher Columbus. {sidenote: i read an article about the real man of Christopher Columbus...WHY do we celebrate him?!?}
pat is amazing. in many, many ways.
one example. he's been teaching the kids about the "attributes of God" for a few months. deep, intense. they had notes and everything.
then...to review it all, he made a game of jeopardy. he put a ton of time and effort into it all.
they were all 1 team. could discuss and answer together. there were 3 prizes - depending on how many points they got. they got NONE of the prizes because they didn't answer enough correctly. he was disappointed (so were they!) and they couldn't believe he truly wasn't giving them a prize. but they really, really should have known more of the answers. if they listened to him as he taught them, night after night, they would know it. he repeats things over and over. i was sad for him. but maybe it will help them to listen better?? we'll see...
my bootcamp teacher challenged us to a "100 mile challenge" for the month of october. i didn't think it would be a problem for me. and it's not. i was at 85 miles on oct 16 (now i'm at 89 miles). i think i'm going to make it...{i had no idea how many miles i ran in a month??}
got to take sawyer to his 5 year old well check - just me and him.
we had fun. i got him laughing so hard and this silly clapping game we were doing that he was crying. goodness, i love him.
this is the kind of stuff i LOVE about my life.
i looked over on the counter on tues morning and saw this:
something needed to be done with them.
went to the gym.
{ps. i HATE speed workouts. they are so hard for me! six 1/2 mile sprints with 1/4 mile recovery in between. ugh! but they really, really do help with speed! so i will keep doing them until the half-marathon.}
stopped at the grocery store for a couple ingredients.
and then we made pumpkin banana bread with chocolate chips!
i doubled the recipe (because i pretty much double EVERY recipe to feed my family) and it made a TON! i couldn't fit it all in the kitchenaid...had to transfer it to a bigger bowl and get out my hand mixer!
but then we were able to give some away, too!
look who ate dinner with us last night!
went for a walk this morning to the playground. played "tag" in muddy mulch with sawyer. the next time i put these shoes on, it will be for the tough mudder! ahhh!!! {trying not to freak out...}
the other day i made pumpkin muffins for some friends that stayed with us this past weekend. joshua was the ONLY one that stayed and helped. that surprised me!
i'm all caught up on the kids birthday books. there are 5 summer birthdays...so i got behind. {and we can't FIND sawyer's birthday book?!? and i was hoping, hoping, hoping it would show up. ugh. makes me sick!} pat and i both write a letter to each kid on their birthday. when they turn 18, we'll give it to them.
randomness of all the days lately :-)
