the morning went as smoothly as it could have.
joshua - 4th grade (WHY does he have to HATE pictures so much?!?)
lincoln - 1st grade!
bailey - 3rd grade
pat drives those first 3 (joshua, lincoln and bailey) to school at 7:30 am.
the 5 cassada kids heading off to school this year! (yes, sawyer is officially taller than lincoln now :/)
he was SO anxious to know when HE got to go!
reading "the kissing hand" together.
hard day for this little guy...
at 8:15 am, she gets on the bus. i'm going to miss her like crazy! we had SUCH a good summer together!
tell me it's not just me. isn't she stunning??
then we had 3 hours to wait until sawyer's bus came!
went to the gym. then the playground. then ate lunch. FINALLY it was time to go to the bus stop at 11:30 am! (about lunchtime, sawyer started saying things like, "i'm going to miss you." and "i wish YOU were going to be my teacher." agh! stab me in the heart! i kept smiling and hugging him...and dying inside.)
waiting for his bus...
here it comes!!
we have the BEST bus driver.
there he goes...
the doors closing on my sawyer...it never gets easier...
and i was down to 1 (for 3 hours!) we read some books and now he's taking a nap.
i sure am enjoying the QUIET...but i can't stop thinking about them and can't WAIT to hear about their days!! i have LISTS of things to be done. but i try to not tackle those this first week...i try to let myself adjust, make sure i'm READY to greet them and hear about their days, and take it a bit easy all the way around. but next week... ;)

Hi Courtney ~
I have been a reader of your blog for some time, but have never commented. I am a friend of Leah's, which is how I came for find your blog. I just wanted to let you know that even though I don't know you, I adore you and your family. You are such an encouragement to me on so many days. I have four kids, 7 and under and the last two are twins. Adding kids to your family 2 at a time is an adjustment to say the least, so even though I don't have six kids or any adopted, I do know what its like to add two at a time and live life with a big family. There are so many times that your words speak right to my heart and I am either laughing or in tears because you say just what I'm thinking or need to hear!! I have learned so much from your blog and wanted to let you know I appreciate how honest and real you are.
I love hearing about Paleo as well...I have a few friends that have started this and I am very intrigued by it!! Thanks for sharing!
Niki
Yes, Rebekah is BEAUTIFUL. Love her boots. Oh my, actually started to CRY when the bus doors closed on Sawyer. Thankfully my family is in the basement and not around to see me a sloppy mess at seeing your baby boy grow up! LOVE YOU!!
