is it my day?

my kids have THE best dad.
he's amazing.

he started "days" years ago now.
usually when he's doing "their day" with them, i run away to my bed to read (ok. or cry.) or the computer or my planner to get ready for the next day.

but the other night i sat on the couch and just took it in for a few minutes. {and took a picture!}
they were playing a game. and it was just about the sweetest thing ever.

it's not long (15-20 minutes.)
or complicated (they read together or play a game or go for a walk when it's nice.)

but it's THEIR DAY.
they KNOW it's coming and plan all DAY what they will do with dad that night.
it's VALUABLE to them.

and i'm so very thankful that they have a dad that loves them SO well!
