it hasn't been intentional, but i haven't mentioned this little commitment i made yet!
i'm co-coaching a running program at the elementary school.
here's the backstory.
i got an email (that went out to the WHOLE school) at the beginning of the school year (maybe even before school started?) that mentioned they were hoping to have this running program but needed coaches. it caught my eye, because, well i like to run :-) and i spent all summer getting my kids to run.
but i didn't do anything about it.
then another email came.
i emailed back. just saying maybe i was interested.
she said, "oh really? good. because a number of people told me you should do it." ha!
at this point i mention it to pat. hoping he's going to be the one that says, "courtney, no way." he says, "it sounds great! you should do it!"
i talked to joshua and bailey about it - since they would be doing it and i'd be their coach. joshua's eyes lit up and he said, "YOU would be my COACH?!?" that was it. done! when will i ever get to coach him and have him be excited about it? never! except now.
so, i said i'd do it.
it's 2 afternoons a week. for an hour. right after school gets out.
we are coaching 30ish kids to be able to run a 5k on december 9.
so far it's been pretty fun and great.
it is definitely an added stress, i have to wake sawyer and levi up early from their naps those days (but it's so great that they can come and just be there with me!), and homework/etc starts an hour later on those 2 days.
but, overall, it's good and i'm glad we're doing it!
