i knew lisa was going to be at hannah's shower and i couldn't WAIT to get my hands on her!!! it's been YEARS since i've seen her...WAY too long!
i was about rebekah's age when i met her. her husband, tim, was the jr high youth pastor at our church. they were a young, fun couple and were just starting their family. yet she met with me weekly for YEARS. fed me spaghetti dinners every wed night before youth group. at the time, i thought she just loved hanging out with me :-) but now i know she was giving giving giving of herself for me. she continued to be my mentor and friend all through high school. i was so thankful for who she was at the time, but as the years have gone on, i've realized more and more how much she truly gave me and "thankful" just doesn't even seem to describe it!
she taught me how to be a wife and mom and daughter of the King...mostly by getting to WATCH her (and some by her words and encouragement and accountability). she shared openly about how to TRULY love your husband...she is passionate about marriage and her marriage shows it!
tim (her husband) married pat and i. they did our pre-marital counseling. and their 2 daughters were our flower girls. their family is so so special to me.
it was a sweet time sitting and catching up with her...
she gave the devotion at MY bridal shower also, and one of the ladies had taken notes then and written it out and given it to hannah at HER shower!! wow!!! this was us looking at it...
can you tell i couldn't get enough of her? :-)
these were the notes...
i pray that my girls have someone like lisa in their lives. i can be their mom...but it needs to be someone else in their lives that can do something like this for them.
lisa, thank you for who you are!!! i wouldn't be who i am if it weren't for you and all you poured into me!

Wow, what a gift!!
I am curious as to why you don't think you could be like that for your daughters.
priceless.
Just printed out Lisa's words to you from YOUR shower. She really said it all so concisely. Thank you for sharing.
