joshua came home from school a week or so ago with a paper and said he wanted to fill it out so that he could run for 3rd grade representative at school. i told him if he did, he might have to write (and give!) a speech. he said he was ok with it. i was so amazed. it just all seemed so NOT like him, but he was determined and filled it out!
there are 6 3rd grade classes, so the first step was for each class to vote 1 person from their class to move on. he was voted to move on :-)
so, yesterday he gave a speech to the 3rd grade - all 6 classes. there are 6 kids running for the 3rd grade representative spot.
he was definitely nervous...
but did GREAT reading his speech!!!
ahh! i could FEEL his relief! :-)
they find out the results this afternoon...i guess i'll find out when he gets home from school. but we are so VERY proud of him for all he did! he stepped out of his comfort zone for sure and did GREAT!
the little boys and i went to the playground for a few minutes...then went back in the school to eat lunch with joshua.
what a fun day to celebrate him!
